My Story: I greatly enjoy training and in my role as Head Sommelier here at TerraVina, I take full advantage of Gerard’s (my mentor) ability to motivate, enthuse and teach. I love competing and am keen to continue taking part in the many varied Sommelier competitions on offer and contributing to raising the profile of sommeliers still further. My most recent achievement was winning the 2009 Academy of Food and Wine, UK Sommelier of the Year Competition, sponsored by Champagnes Charles Heidsieck and Piper Heidsieck.
Funny Story - Not long ago, we had a small group of ladies staying with us. All lovely ladies until they got a little too merry at the Polo, came back to the hotel and decided to go skinny-dipping in our outdoor pool. There were some very wide-eyed faces for a few moments – and I’ve never seen chefs move so fast!
